Artist Statement

 

The landscapes of nature, and nature itself, are most often the subjects of my photography. Sometimes the relationships between nature and our creations find their way into my images as well. They reveal the wonders of a universe that encompasses stunning expanses and astonishing minuteness. We are gifted the experience all this. I seek awareness of creation’s simple miracles, and with the camera to record these glimpses, to remember and share.

 

I purchased my first semi-professional camera while I was in high school and have been creating images ever since. After thousands of images over many years, I noticed I had developed a style and thankfully got much better at creating pleasing images. My photography celebrates the miracle it is so easy to forget, that the universe exists and we are given the gift of experiencing its mystery and magnificence. I enjoy being a member of the Art League of Germantown and the Artist on Market pop-up gallery. The inspiration I get from my artist friends makes me a better artist in turn.
