History of the Art League of Germantown

Early in the 1980's Lynne Oakes moved to Germantown, Maryland. She wished for a way to connect with other artists. She mentioned this to a few of her art students, and during their conversations the vision of The Art League of Germantown was created. Being first of all an artist, Lynne immediately began to paint this vision into reality. In 1983 The Art League of Germantown held its first meeting.
