Jeanne Sullivan
Jeanne seeks inspiration for her collages from her travels and her imagination. Her work invites the viewer to discover plays of color contrast, texture, line, and mystery. She enhances her work with a variety of collage techniques. She combines paints and other mediums, using maps, books, drawings, transfers, stamps, stencils, and hand altered papers to create unique mixed media collages.
Jeanne also takes her collage approach into jewelry, jars, and reproductions of her work.
Jeanne studied art at the University of Maryland, furthering her studies with classes and workshops in collage and encaustics. She is a resident artist at the Gaithersburg Arts Barn, a member of the Miniature Painters, Sculptors and Gravers Society of Washington, D.C. (MPSGS), Art League of Germantown (ALOG), and Montgomery Art Association (MAA), in addition to the Gaithersburg Artist Collective.
Her work can be seen at her studio by chance or appointment, and at the local galleries and exhibitions.
Jeanne offers workshops, parties, and summer camps in collage techniques.
